When I turned 25, I wrote a bullet list of a bunch of things I had learned. I don’t expect everyone or really anyone to agree with everything on this list but it was fun to make and I hope you can at least gain something so here it is:
Besides Jesus, drinks and apps on friday nights is all you really need to be happy
You’re allowed to think for yourself and do what’s best for you
The best way to not gain weight and eat what you want is intermittent fasting
Don't dye your hair
Sleep as much as you feel you need and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise
You can learn nearly any life skill off of youtube
It’s okay to not be a morning person and that doesn’t automatically make you lazy
It’s okay to not be an extrovert and that doesn’t automatically make you selfish
Drinking water will solve a lot of problems
Just buy a heating pad
Also a heated blanket
You can always rejoice in your salvation and find your peace in Jesus!
If you and your husband don’t sleep well in the same bed, sleep in separate beds for the sake of your quality of sleep
Ending a friendship isn’t always sinning and sometimes it’s better for both parties
Along the same lines, you don’t need to keep every person in your life to be obedient to the Lord
Take a bath when you’re upset
Get yourself some good hobbies that you enjoy
You don’t need to defend yourself to people who will never understand and you don’t owe people explanations
Its okay to keep a lot of things to yourself & you don’t have to share every detail of your life even to your closest friends
Good therapy is 100% worth it
Learn how to forgive others and let go of the past
Life is too short to read a book you don’t enjoy
Twilight (yes, the vampire series) is underrated
Always have ibuprofen, ginger pills and melatonin
When it comes to your job, don’t lie when you interview, then do your best and let God do the rest
When it comes to people pleasing, the sooner you can get over that the better
The key to happiness is to care less about the things you cannot control
Social media can be straight up toxic
Instead of following trends, buy clothes that make you look your best
A walk or workout can almost always lift your mood
So can your favorite music
Good underwear and bras will make all the difference
If it’s not a big deal for you, just do the things that make your husband happy
Just because a christian says something even with good intentions does not make it true or helpful
Find a good job and a good mattress because you spend a majority of your life there
Let yourself feel emotions but don’t let them control you
Get in the habit of being grateful for what you have instead of being critical of what you don’t have
Preach good, helpful and truthful thoughts to yourself!
Don't let people convince you black coffee is better than coffee with creamer
Actually don’t let people convince you to do anything you know you don’t want to do
I’m almost 27 and this all still rings true for me!
